How to 'fill' a shape with a photo?

I switched over to PSE from DIP.

In DIP I could draw a shape, choose "Fill w/ ...." and it would do just that - fill the shape with my photo or paper, whatever I choose.

I could resize and move the photo, but it would always stay within the constraints of my shape.

Is there a way to do this in PSE?

I like to draw my templates, THEN add my elements

Thanks!

I think this is what you are looking for if not let me know!

I create the shape I want my pic on one layer (fill it with whatever color it doesn't matter), then on the layer above it I put my picture. Then I hit control-g and it makes the picture only show up where the shape was. You can then resize the shape or resize the pic and move it around until you get it where you want. This is also how I do a lot of my titles that are filled with patterned paper. First type your text, then add the paper above and then hit control-g and voila its a patterned title. Hope that helps, its one of my FAVORITE things to do with PSE!

In PSP I use a mask, there's no layer grouping type of function. Put a mask on the photo, then put your shape on the mask

In PSP, you can also just draw the shape on top of the picture, make the shape somewhat transparent (change the opacity of the layer), then move around the shape (or resize it) until you get it on top of the part of the picture you want. Then, use the magic wand to select just the shape, then with that selection still active, change your active layer to the picture. Then, cut and paste that selection into your page.
