PS3 user-recommendations for lap top

I have both PS3 and CS2 on my desk top. I am looking to be more portable for scrap nights with a girlfriend. I have a lap top that is about 2 yearas old. It has a cd reader as one drive. I am looking to upgrade it to accomdate digital scrapping. Do I need a burner if so should be DVD/CD? How much RAM, speed etc. I will keep PS3 on it as to not eat up
much memory. Any input from the experts out there would be appreciated.

Patte.

Have you checked with your local computer guy to see "if" your laptop can be upgraded? First, you need to see what you can possibly add to it, and then choose what you want or need. I'd go for at least 512ram, then a burner (DVD just holds more files). I have a bad habit of filling up hard drives, so I'd also go for the largest that the laptop could handle now instead of upgrading again later. DH should be home later if you need a computer tech's opinion...

Arti is correct...you need to talk to a hardware "Professional" about what you can and cannot do to your current laptop. I am a computer geek, but I know a lot more about software than I do about hardware. One thing you can do yourself is go to website for your laptop manufacturer and find out what the maximum amount of RAM you can add to your machine. For my HP laptop, the most I could have is 1 GIG. Memory is, in general, not terribly expensive.
My laptop is 2+ years old and I run PS 7 on it. I upgraded my memory to 1 Gig and that helped the most. I also got an external hard drive ( 160 gig, I think). I have all my scrapping stuff, including pictures loaded on there. It's a heavy beast, but it sure beats having a full hard drive

HTH~
