So STUCK! So frustrated!

Please! I hope I even can explain what is wrong. I open a new project. I would like to draw a line 1/4 inside the image, to create a small border. I click on the brush, and the brush is the zero origin. Now here is my problem. On the vertical line, the brush is at zero origin. In other words, there is a little crosshair that follows the brush, so that i can keep track of where I am drawing, but on the horizontal line, the little crosshair is 2 and a quarter inches away from the actual brush. I have tried resetting the zero origin by dragging from the upper left corner at the juncture of the rulers...it resets the zeros, but the crosshair stays 2.25 inches away. I want it exact like it is on the vertical plane...does any body get what I am saying, and know how to fix it?

if you are looking to get an equal border around your image, try this trick...
(for best results, have the grid showing)

click the first point where you want the line to start.
press "shift" and the click where the end of the line will be, release "shift.
this draws a straight line.
I think if you press "shift" again, and the next point, it will do another line.
keep doing this until your border is complete.

Hope this helps you with what you are trying to do.
If not, let us know and we'll try something different.

Yeah, I know that part...

I consider myself to be an advanced elements user...pretty familiar with much of the program. This has been an ongoing issue, and most everytime, I am able to resolve it, tho' I don't know exactly how...that's what happened tonight, so I'm no longer stuck...but still frustrated, because I would like to know how to solve the problem proactively. All I can say for sure is that it has something to do with the rulers, and the zero origin function...anybody else run into this problem?

Sorry i wasn't any help. I use PSE4, and all the short cuts so I haven't come across your problem as of yet. If I ever do, I will look back to your thread to see how you solved it.

I'm glad you got it resolved for the time being, and I hope you got some scrapping done besides all that hair pulling! If you do figure it out will you post back here.

I've run into this, and run away screaming, so I'd like to know too. I now own PSCS2 but my main program is still PSE3 so I am likely to run into this again and again. I just usually skip the line border and add a mat around it cause I know how to do that! LOL!
Anyway, glad you got it to work for you.
