Need help installing brushes/plugins

I've been using PSE 3 now since March and have yet to figure out out to install a plugin or brush. I downloaded some brushes into my Adobe>Photoshop Elements>Plugins>Filters... extracted them.... but how do I get them into my PSE? I don't understand....I have all these plugins and cute brushes but don't know how to *use* them Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You need to save the brushes into C:\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Presets\Brushes. Then the next time you start PSE you'll have them as a choice in your brushes list.

Plugins really depend on exactly what they are. Some have to be installed by their own program. What plugins are you trying to get to work?

HTH!

As for the brushes, I downloaded it where you said, but can't find it in my brushes...Do I just click on the paintbrush tool and then look under that b/c that's what I did ?

Yes, with the paintbrush tool open you should see the new brushes but their buried a little bit.

**Open the paintbrush tool [b].
**Then click on the down arrow next to brush preview in the options. This opens up a menu of all the brushes in the current set.
**Now click on the down arrow next to the name of the current brush set. This opens a menu of all loaded brush sets. Find your new brushes there.

And just to confirm your new brushes sets are ABR files, right? If this doesn't work for you, please let me know and I'll explain another way to load the brushes.

Well I don't see the brushes there...maybe I'm not downloading the actual brush??? I downloaded Sara Carling's Design Brushes from The Digi Chick under Downloads>designer samplers. I don't know what I'm doing. I don't see any brushes under my menu...

Brandi,

I know you have several threads with brush questions going, so did you get this issue resolved? Were these brushes PNG files that you're turning into brushes on your own? If you have more brush questions, feel free to PM me.
