LOL, I was thinking the same thing.

Yay!! I did it. Now I've got to write down what I did so I can do it again. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks,
Cathy

Stacy,

Well, you helped me get one technique down. I did a picture of my DIL and DGD, too. That will look nice as a layout with my son's picture. I'm going to play with PSE 3 some more and I know where I can come if I should need help.

BTW, my friend now wants me to take out some background people from some pics she wants to display at her DS's wedding on Saturday night. I didn't think scrapbooking was for me when I first started nearly 8 years ago. I did that first page and I thought to myself, "I can do this". I think that has to be my mindset with this, too. You have been wonderful to help. This is a great forum. Looking forward to learning more from everyone here.

Thanks Stacy,
Cathy

You're very welcome, Cathy. Now you'll have lots of pictures to practice your technique on.

At this point.. you should just buy the program, buy the book and give it a go. Or.. if you don't want to buy the program.. you could just keep trying different programs as you need them. I often recommend people do this when they only occasionally need to edit a photo or want to digitally scrap something. There are about 30 or so "pro" paint programs on the market.. most have a 30 day demo. If you are just an occasional user, you could easily just try em out and get your results without spending the $$ for the software. I'd look at the following for this:
PSP, Photoshop CS, Ulead products, Picture It, XnView Deluxe, Photo Mechanic, Photoshop Elements, ACDSee products, PictureMan Pro, etc.. and the GIMP is free!

A good google search will get you a huge number of results..

Thanks. I'll check into these, too. This may be right for me. I'm trying to weigh whether it is worth the $80 or so if I'm only going to use the program occassionally. Having a trial version of a program gives you time to play with it and see if it's something useful.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's what I mean about finding this website and forum...everyone is so helpful.

Agreed... I mean its nice to stick with one program once you've learned it so you become quicker in its use.. but for occasional dabbling.. you just can't beat all the software trials out there.

And.. most people don't even realize how nice some of the freeware paint programs are.. The Gimp is a fine piece of software that easily rivals PSP. There are number of ther projects at sourceforge... freeware software that takes on the big boys but no one pays them much mind. But.. they are free!

Good luck!
