I use pse 3
When I download brushes, how do I then use then in pse? I don't know what to do with them now. They are still in the zipped files.

Hi! I'm actually writing a PSE brushes class right now so here's the basic overview of loading them.
First you have to unzip the brush file. Right click on the file and choose Extract here to open it in the same folder. Make a folder for all your PSE downloads with subfolders for brushes, styles, patterns, shapes, etc (if all you have are brushes, dont' get overwhelmed by the other presets. Just start with brushes folder and just add folders as you learn to use and download other presets).

Now, open PSE and go to Edit>Preset Manager and choose Brushes. Click Load and browse to your brush file. Then click Done. YOu can also load them in the Brush Tool menu. In that list, click the tiny arrow to open the fly out menu and choose Load Brushes and browse to it.
They'll be at the bottom of the current list. They'll be gone if you choose another category, but just load them again if needed.

If you use them a lot, you can also save the brush .abr file in the Program Files>Adobe>PSE3>Presets>Brushes folder and they'll be in your category drop down menu in the Brush Tool menu for easy, quick access from now on. But you still have to have them in the other folder in case you ever reinstall PSE, so you don't lose all the presets saved in your PSE3 Presets program folder.

hope this helps! Anyone else have any suggestions for loading or using them? Or if you have any questions on what I wrote, just holler!
