HELP! Photo Bin keeps disappearing

Hi All!

I've just run across something that is driving me crazy--my photo bin keeps disappearing! I don't know if I inadvertantly changed a setting or what. The window with my project keeps maximizing itself and closing my photo bin window without any help from me. It's making it next to impossible to drag elements onto my project because the photo bin keeps minimizing. I click on the little arrow at the bottom to open the photo bin back up but it opens for only two or three seconds before minimizing itself again. I've already rebooted thinking it was just one of those quirks but that wasn't it.

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm in a time crunch--I have two more layouts to get finished by Friday but at this rate it'll be next month!

Try this

I had this problem and my friend Pattie told me to go to Window>images and maximize mode is probably checked. If it is, uncheck it. I hope this helps your problem-it sounds like the same one I had. Lynn

Help!

Lynn,

Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately, that wasn't it. I had actually thought of that already. However, after about a half hour of searching the menus, I found under "Preferences" that the auto photo bin had been turned on. I unchecked that and voila! It worked. The real mystery is HOW it got turned on to begin with!!! But perhaps this thread will help someone else if they experience the same problem.

Debbie

You've got the Bin set to Auto-Hide. It's so it pops out of the way when not in use.

Hit Ctrl-K or Edit>Prefs>General and the last option needs to be unchecked to keep the bin open all the time unless you close it.

I keep mine on Auto-Hide for the extra "real estate" on the screen while working. I just click the little arrow to open it quickly (no dragging), then it closes when I move away from it. Totally personal preference, so it's nice PSE lets you pick how to do it.

Let us know if that works!

Help - Photo Bin

Thanks, Emma,

I actually found the answer on my own last night after sending out the SOS--took me a while but I did it! Appreciate your help though!
