Suggestions for PSE books about making elements?

I am going through Everyday PhotoShop Elements book by Julie King and it's great but does not touch on how to make elements. There are lots of books available but can anybody make suggestions for me before I buy any of them? Thanks!

You are not going to find any books on making elements. What you will find is books that teach you the ins and outs of your program. Once you learn how to you your program, and use it well, then you can start designing elements. Or....you can do an internet search for free tutorials.

Dianne:

Thanks for your post. Any suggestions? I looked at Scrapbooking With Photoshop Elements: The Creative Cropping Cookbook by Lynette King on Amazon as well as getting escrappers.com's guide to PSE.

Thanks again!

your best bet is to take an online class designed for making elements in PSE 3.

Very few of the books will talk about making scrap graphics, but learning the software is a big help to creating on your own. Online tutorials and classes are the way to go!

Nope, sorry! I don't have any suggestions. I learned it pretty much on my own.

good book

The Down and Dirty Tricks book by Scott Selby is awesome. I spent hours in Barnes and Noble also trying to find an element making book. It definitely doesn't exist! But this book helped me learn to get the most of PSE3. It is awesome and easy to understand!

does he have one for PSE now? I have the PS 7 D&D, and the new one, D&D classics (left here by one of my students, I need to return that!!!)

they're good. If you can generlaize knowledge and apply to new situations, that'll go a long way in figuring stuff out on your own from other tutorials. I devour stuff, these are good books, even if there's nothing specifically scrapping in them. Great effects we can still use a lot

KELBY not Selby

Of course I meant Kelby. I was very tired when I wrote that! (How's that for an excuse?) So anyway, the book is Photoshop Elements 3 Down and Dirty Tricks. I got it for $34.99 at Barnes and Noble. I am sure you can find it cheaper, but I was in one of those "gotta have" moods. It says, "Learn the newest tricks, special effects, and inside secrets of Photoshop Elements 3 from the author of teh best-selling book, The Photoshop Elements Book for Digital Photographers". Let's put it this way, I saw my friend's wedding album this weekend and the effects were straight out of this book. I swear I could have done it myself!
