PSE vs Photoshop

I just purchased PSE 3.o and am wondering if it is worth keeping or should I just get Photoshop. I have never used either so I am completely a beginner.

Since you're billing yourself as a complete beginner... I'd say to stick with PSE. There are some things that PSE cannot do that PS can, but most of them are things that only an advanced digi-scrapper is going to really need/use. I've been using PSE for a year and half... I occassionally feel limited but not enough to drop $600+ to upgrade to full blown PS.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah. PS has maybe more power and options with actions and filters....but it took me about three years to care about it. All of my web design and scrap design has all been done in pse 2 up until, oh I don't know, say NOW. Hehehe. Hope that helps a bit.

Ditto on the stick with PSE at least until you feel limited by it. I have yet to experience this. PSE does everything I need it to do for the time being. I used PSE 2 for 1 1/2 years, then upgraded to PSE 3 in January. Have yet to feel a longing for PS. $600 will buy a lot of computer equipment and digital kits.

Go with PSE

I learned on PS - been using it since December. Well my time finally ran out (on free downloads on different computers and what-not) so I bought PSE. I LOVE IT!!! But...I already know most of it and feel smart (that's a big one for me), lol. I'd buy PSE....jmo

I have to agree with everyone else. Start out getting to know PSE first. Then when you want to upgrade- if you do- later you'll have a jump start on PS CS and not as much to learn.

I know that's the way that I learned it. There really aren't that many things that I usually do in CS that I couldn't do in PSE.
