Angry Hating PSE 3.0

I am new at digital scrapping and am very discouraged with Photoshop Elements 3.0. I can't figure out a single thing with the program. I bought a guide that has not helped me yet. Can anyone recommend a good source (book, website, CD, etc) that will help me out?! I have been scrapping for 16 years now and am ready to go back to doing it manually! Please help me out of the dumps - I am so impatient!!!!!! Thanks guys in advance for any help you have to offer!

Have you checked the tutorials section of this site? Also, there is a 'Ist Layout in PSE' chat/class offered sometimes, and check the School of Scrap section in the SBB store for more classes. You can also find some good tutorials at Digital Scrapbook Place.

Don't give up! There's lots to learn and it can be discouraging. But take a look at the tutorials here. Even though most PSE tuts were written for 2.0 I think you'll find them helpful.

Also, the layers can be confusing. But just remember, that's how you scrapped with paper. Each thing you added to the layout was a separate layer. You can re-arrange the layers or do something special to one of them (distressing, inking, etc.) It's the same with PSE. Each element you add is a separate layer and can be re-arranged or altered as needed.

If you have a specific question or two post it here. That's what I did and quickly got an answer to get me going. Tackle it one step at a time.

Carole

oh, HUGS! PSE 3 is a great program! I have some wonderful resources for it, I teach 3 PSE-only books/classes for digi scrapping

Don't despair, the learning curve can be a little steep, but with help you'll quickly get what you need!

Thanks all for the encouragement. I am going to check out the suggestions. I did look at the tutorials here, but still feel lost. This site was referred to me by a friend from my baby board and it is fabulous! I feel confident that I will learn a lot from you talented women!

Feel free to PM me with any specific questions you have. I made the switch from PSE 3 a few months ago and love it. It does take some time to learn the program (took me over a year before I started actual digi-scrapping!) but I wouldn't dream of going back to paper!

For those of you using PSE 3.0, do you think its different enough from PSE 2.0 to upgrade? I have PSE 2.0 and wonder what PSE 3.0 has that is used a lot in digi-scrapping?

I feel your pain...I am just becoming interested in the digital side of scrapbooking but know nothing......I just bought PSE 3.0 and was so lost......But I have found help....I went to the bookstore and found Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 classroom in a book.....I comes with a CD and assignments so you work through all the different things and how to use them.....Between this and help I have come pretty far.......Although I only halfway through lesson three........It really helps.......Hope it helps you too.......Good Luck
