Question Is there a trick to making PSE 3 the default for pictures?

I also have PSP 7 on my computer and when I have a picture opened, it's opened by PSP instead of Adobe. I want everything to be done with Adobe Photoshop Elements. For example. If I go into my files to browse through pictures, it's showing the icon with a PSP7 icon on the file. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I just want to make this much less complicated with out having to uninstall PSP b/c I like to use it for blinkies and such and saving siggys, etc...

Alright, I know there is another way to do this but in Windows open up the file explorer and find a JPG file. Right click on the filename and select Open with...>Choose program. Highlight PSE from the list of possible programs and make sure to check the box for "Always use the selected program to open this file type". Then click Okay.

HTH.

I'm glad that worked for you. I know there's a bigger/better/faster way to do it but this is the way I remember to do it. LOL

It would help a lot if you let us know what operating system you are using, it changes with new versions sometimes.

Stacy's method also works on Macs, just ctrl-click instead of right-clicking as always
