Does anyone know how to add pics, elements, etc...to your background an easier way?

In PSE 3.0???

When I want to add a picture or an element to a background in PSE 3, I have to open it up, then select all, then go to edit>then copy> then go back and click on my background and then go up to edit again and click on paste. IS there an EASIER way of doing this with PSE 3 does anyone know of? I've heard of dragging the item onto the background using the move tool, but I've tried that and all it does is select the item for me that I try to drag....maybe there's something specific I'm not doing?

When working in PSE3 you can drag and drop into any file in the Photo Bin area. I usually work with in Windows Maximum Mode so when I open a file to insert into my lo, the lo file moves into the Photo Bin area, then I can drag the element, photo, or selected item on to my lo.

Try clicking on the four boxes up by your minimize/maximize buttons up in the upper right corner. This will tile your open elements and you can drag from one tile to the other.

Here's another method I use. With the element you want to add as your active window, right click on the layer (in the layers palette). A list of options will come up. Select duplicate layer. A dialogue box will come up asking where you want it to be duplicated. There will be several options, including a drop down list of the files you have open. Make your choice and the element will be pasted.

Hope this helps.

I use the same method- only I don't often use the File>Edit type route. I can't remember what the quick buttons are for selecting all, but I do that, then Ctrl and C for copy and Ctrl and P for paste. Tiling the windows also helps.
