Upload LO in PSE3

I went to upload some of my new LOs and realized I have not done that in PSE3 before! I was using PSP8 and know how to do that - I would begin by entering File-Export-JPEG Optimizer etc.. However, that doesn't work in PSE3. Can someone help me with detailed instructions for uploading PSP3 files to SBB? Thanks a bunch!

I'm not sure I'm understanding your question. Are you trying to post in the gallery? If so, here's what I do:

1. Create the layout and save as a .psd file. This saved file goes in a folder called "Digital Layouts."
2. Resize the layout to 72 dpi and 500x500 pixels. You don't have to do this step, but if you don't the 3rd step eats up a lot of RAM and my comptuer doesn't like it.
3. Go to File>Save for Web. This will save your layout for sharing on the web. This version of the layout goes in a folder named "Saved for Web Layouts."

Then come here, find the Saved for Web version on your computer and upload! Good luck!

How I do it

Hi, Debbie - I don't know if there's some other way to do it, I'm sure there is, but here's what I do, in detail:

1. Flatten the image (Layer Menu)
2. Resize the Image to 500 x500 pixels (Edit Menu)
3. Save for Web (File Menu)
4. Once it goes through optimizing the file, choose to save it (I have a folder called "web layouts" on my desktop that I save to.)
5. Log in to SBB, choose Upload Photos, Select a photo by browsing to your desktop and the web layouts folder, select "Choose"

That's it. I did this laying in bed looking at my notebook, not at my program, so this might be *slightly* inaccurate, but I think it's pretty close.

Thanks Kimberly and Billie--I'll give it a try tomorrow when I'm not so bleary eyed!

I should add that when you're on the "Save for Web" screen, you can play with the quality of the .jpg (there is a box here where you can change the number; I tend to stick with 70 because you don't notice much change when you raise the quality from there, but you do notice if you lower). You can also adjust the size (two boxes where you can change from 500x500 to 450x450, for example).

Your current file will be on the left, with the current file size below it. The right will be your new file with the new file size below. By changing the above two items, you can change your file size to get it under 125K for posting.
