To our SBB friends,
To our SBB friends,
You may know by now about the unfortunate incident that occurred where the server company that hosts
www.scrapbook-bytes.com had a fire that has caused irreversable damage to the particular server that hosts the SBB Store including the destruction of the backup files usually used to restore things in cases like this. This is not an easy thing to recover from and will take time to resolve as it involves gathering and re entering every detail of the store including design, scripts, coding, descriptions, images, cart and payment software, links, the co-operation of the individual designers and many other time consuming and challenging tasks.
The store will have to be rebuilt from scratch and is likely to take at least a week to restore basic operations. Until this time the store will be offline. The status of orders taken since October 1st is currently unknown. We expect to have a definitive answer on the recoverability of this information in 48 hours or so, so please keep an eye out for further information at which time you may be asked to contact SBB if you have placed an order since October 1st. Please do not email regarding orders made since October 1st until another announcement is made in 48 hours or so as we cannot resolve this issue until that time.
In addition, sometime last week the servers (SBB runs on multiple servers with the same host) were exploited by someone to run spam scripts causing problems with the site scripts and as an additional result the IP was blocked by some ISP companies who monitor SPAM. if you or someone you know cannot access SBB you may need to contact your ISP for assistance or try your ISP's help website files or google "fix blocked IP address"
The issues have also interrupted email reciept and sending for the various admin and customer.service email addys used by SBB an dthere is a large backlog. If you have emailed in the past few days please be patient in expecting a response.
Please understand that SBB is doing everything within its power to restore and resolve these issues and will continue to work hard to ensure that members can enjoy their experience at SBB. Things were further complicated by SBB attendance at the Convention at the time of the crisis.
To recieve updates on these issues you can visit the site
www.scrapbook-bytes.com or join the Announcement Only Scrapdigital yahoo list

www.sbbteamupdates.com blog. We will endeavour to keep you up to date with the issues.
Please feel free to share this information with other sites, blogs and friends so everyone is as informed as possible
Thank you for your understanding and patience
