I like your thinking...

..of being only the keeper for now and not inflicting your taste. In my case, I agree and at the same time disagree. First off, as I kind of alluded to in my response, I want to keep the originals seperate more so b/c I am very scared of fire/water damage (my apt building caught on fire once and it REALLY changed my perspective on being prepared), so in that regard I feel like the keeper for the next generation and don't want to change anything with the original (especially with pics of extended family).

However, both of my parents are now deceased and I am the only child. Due to this fact there are certain pics that I definitely want to scrap via paper (after making a HIGH-res digital copy) because I want them to have my "tastes" on them. Why? Because the "tastes" are actually going to be expressions of the memories that they invoke and those are memories are mine alone and it is the only way I can think of to tell my future children about the grandparents they will never meet. Does that make sense? These paper LO's I, once I am finished with them, I will scan in so that I have a digital copy and it is this copy that I will keep with me in my apt. The original paper LOs will go in the safe deposit box with the other original pics.

Finally, I find this type of scrapping the hardest: the pics still make me very emotional and I want to do my best job so sometimes I have a hard time starting because I don't want to make a mistake.

P.S. I do agree with you that it does become a HUGE project!
