I am considering buying the Canon i9900 but I would like to know if any of you have determine the average cost of printing the 12x12 at home.

I've been very happy with printing 12x18 at Costco and trimming it down to 11x14, 12x16, or 12x12 but the last time 2 times the my printout were skewed - my guess is that the feeder needs maintenance. Although they are more than willing to redo the printing when I came back it was skewed exactly the same way. The photo manager didn't think there was anything wrong with their machines so its not going to get fixed.

I would agree with the manager if I was planning to mat and frame all of these pictures since I can adjust for the skewness but some of them were going into a scrapbook album. I've tried having them print it with a border but I can't get a clean cut all the way down - even with a new blade.

I'm currently spending $2-4 for each enlargement at Costco. Outside of the holidays, I probably only print 3-6 enlargements a month. Is it worth spending the initial $500 for the printer and all the associated printing cost?
