I have a very hard time deleting any of my pictures. If they are just plain horrible, then yes, I delete. I was the same way when I shot film. I hated throwing any picture away. I take anywhere between 500-1000 pictures each month. As soon as I move them to my hard drive, I go through and delete the ones that just can't be fixed. Then, I go through and enhance the ones that I love. Those pictures are copied to a "to be printed" folder. I try to do this all at once, otherwise it gets overwhelming. And then about once a month I get those pictures printed. Usually that's only about 20-25 each month. Eventually they will all be in a photo album, but for now they are in a photo box in chronological order.
Now, almost all of the pictures I have printed are also scrapped. However, I will use pictures in my scrapbook that I don't print because they tell the story. Everything is on my hard drive and then backed up to an external hard drive. I try to make sure I do this monthly. I also burn them to a CD for a second backup. Some day in the not to distant future, I'm going to have to start deleting from my hard drive, but I haven't had the guts yet nor the need.
