I'm not familiar with every printer, but most printer will leave borders of some size. This is where the printer roller grips the paper, so it isn't printed on. The amount of border may vary from printer to printer, but I've had HP's, Epsons, and Canons and all had to leave borders of some width. A suggestion I saw somewhere mentioned resizing the layout to 11x11, cutting off the border, and gluing the layout to card stock to put in an album. I'm not sure how this would look, but maybe you could try it and see. I resize my 12x12's to 8x8 and they work well in 8x8 albums.
