2: maybe you tried to upload your LO in the original Paint shop pro or Photoshop format (or whatever program you use). Save it as a jpg image, reduce the resolution to 72 dpi and the size to about 500 x 500 and it should upload alright, I think.
1: I usually open the LOs I want to look at in a separate tab, but if you open them in the same window, after your comment shows up, with the back button twice you should get back to the gallery. Sorry, I can't help there.
