I know the b/w pic was scanned but I think the pic of the eyes might have been digital. I think maybe I've figured out my problem. I upload from camera (Nikon 4200) using Nikon Viewer; then I make any adjustments; crop and have been resizing the image to save space on computer. Is this changing the pixel size or dpi when doing this? Anyone think this could be my problem? When Dianne mentioned that the pics were too small I began thinking about the few layouts I've created and when I place the pics on the layout they are really small so I've been holding the shift key and dragging lower right handle to enlarge. Am I losing quality this way?

I've gone through some other digitals that are set at 1200x1600. Does this sound like a normal size to use? Is that approximately 4x6? I'm almost positive when checking those small pics that the dpi is at least 300.

I'm going to try and redo the pics and upload again - is there a way to remove the others?

Just when I take a small baby step forward I end up taking two giant steps backward.

Can anyone give some standards for size; pixels and dpi for photos?

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read and help!
Have a great weekend!
Cheryl
