To cut the layout in half, go to Format>Crop>Canvas. Be sure you save the two sides with different names than you saved the complete layout or you'll lose it! When I do this, I usually crop the LH side and print it. Then I go to Edit>Undo so I have my full layout back. Then I crop and print the right side. I rarely save the two sides separately from the whole layout.
