Update: 2:30pm (Saturday)
Got the call way too early this morning from the hospital saying my Dad was ready to come home. I politely told the nurse that I had to wait until my eyes would stay stay open and focus before I could pick him up. Dad was waiting at the hospital doors, and hopped into the van before I could get the keys out of the ignition. We need some way to slow that man down.
His family doctor has asked him NOT to drive until the follow-up appointments are completed. I knew about this yesterday afternoon, and simply kept my Dad's keys and one of his vehicles here. I also know that he is not allowed to use power tools, but he avoided that topic with me. He looks much better, but now it will be a worry that he will push himself too hard.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this tough time on our family. I know we are not out of the woods yet, but we'll just take things day by day for the next little while. If I am not around much next week, it will be because I am driving him and/or my mom to doctor appointments and such. Thank you all for the caring and support!!!
