Yes, if you are going to post it on a forum you could just use an img and url code to link to your media file.

If you want to go the html route, you'll want to learn CSS too. How long it would take you to learn would depend on how much you know already and how complicated you want to make it. If you *do* want to learn, I recommend http://w3schools.com

For something less involved than learning whole new markup languages, I remembered this site: http://www.scrapblog.com I haven't tried it much but it does have alot of media support.

I guess it all depends on how you want to present the end result.
