Hi... received a question about how to create a filled text from a background image and thought I'd post here in case anyone else can find this useful.. a few steps but its all easy.. so here we go:

1. Open the background image
2. Duplicate the Layer (drag background layer to New Icon in layer pal)
3. Choose White as the Background Color
4. Select the Bottom layer and hit Alt+Backspace to fill it (the layer icon will change to white).
5. Select the Duplicate layer and choose the Text Tool
6. Add your Text to this layer and hit Ctrl+Enter when done
7. Now the magic... Drag the new Text Layer down so it is in between the duplicate layer and the background layer.
8. Now... Move the mouse between the top layer and text layer and when the icon changes, hold ALT and Click the mouse..

Voila.. you now clipped your layers together and should have Text filled with the images from the top layer on a white background.

You can then add some layer properties to get a pretty nice effect going... like this one:
