I guess I just needed someone to give me a little push. You are correct in your advice.

I have been doing the tutorials in PSCS3 on Lynda.com for several weeks and am starting to understand a lot more.

I did the CS2 tutorial on this web site and am starting to get the hang of it.

PS is such a powerful program, and now that I'm starting to take pictures in RAW and starting to get interested in HDR, I can see that learning PS is the way to go.

Since I purchased an Olympus E510, I have been getting more interested in the photographic side than the scrapping side.

Lately, I haven't done any scrapping pages for myself, but I have done some for others for pay. This past summer, I have sold over $300 of prints that I took. That's not much, but I'm not actively trying to sell anything, and these were just by word of mouth.

This past weekend, I went to a fall arts festival. There was a lady there that had a little booth with framed prints that she took with her point and shoot camera. She printed them on her home printer.
She had some really beautiful prints of flowers, birds and scenery.
Most were 5 x 7 and some 8 x 10, and the average price was around $45.00 each.
I asked her how things were going and she said there are a lot of lookers but not many buyers.
I think the problem is that with the popularity of digital cameras and the quality of the new cameras coming out, that just about anyone can get great photos of flowers, animals, and scenery now.
I have found that if I take pictures of local places, buildings, events, and local scenery, that if people have some kind of a connection to the photo, they are more inclined to purchase it.

Boy, ramble, ramble, ramble, I sure strayed from the subject.
Anyway, I am going to take your suggestion, and jump into PS with both feet.

Duane
