I was really sad about this too. I teach digital scrapbooking classes locally and most of my students are extremely intimidated by 1) the price tag of PS and 2) the learning curve. I have 2 students that have been regulars for the last 2 years and in the past 6 months I introduced them to Photoshop. They were surprised to see how easy it was to merge into PS. They still have some hang ups but the terms and similiar and the concept is similar.
I teach both programs but was really sad when DIS Anniversary came out and then at CES in Las Vegas, when I asked, I was informed by Microsoft that they were doing away with the DIP'/S's. As a teacher I'm sad about that. I know from experience that students feel more successful, quicker, with DIP/S than they do with PS.
I think it's an oversite on Microsofts part to nix the program rather than invest in making changes to it. But who knows what goes on in their heads! ROFL!
