I do board books when I paper scrap.....I have ones that are designed for altering...so they were white. I used regular adhesive and the covered the completed page with Modge Podge....glossy type. It will have to dry about 24 hours before you can close the book. I have covered the photos and everything (not fabric flowers though) with it and had no problems with color bleeding. Use care to make clean brush strokes since sometimes they can be seen. Start on one side of the page and go across the layout in rows just like painting a room. Best of luck.
