Hi Everyone

I'm new to digital scrapbooking, think its going to get addictive once I have a bit of a clue as to what I am doing. I've got stuck and need some help.

My background is grass and I have managed to add a vellum layer with a tear down the middle. I have the photo on top and have managed a title. Its all very basic but didnt want to get too carried away. I decided it would look nice with a brad on all four corners of the vellum. I downloaded one, went to the tutorial and followed getting rid of the background and moving it onto my page. I can get it to the right place but theres a square behind the brad. How do I get rid of this? I thought I had doen this when I used the magic wand .
I hope this makes sense and I apologise for asking what is probably a simple question but Ive only had PS for 2 days so Im quite chuffed I have got this far !
