Hi and Welcome! There are quite a few ways to get kits and things like that, one of them is here in the SBB store and also there are free downloads in the forums here:

so you have the chance to give digi scrapping a shot without spending too much money

When it downloads, just make sure you are saving to a place where you'll easily find it on your computer. You can creat a new folder on your desktop, or in your documents and keep all of your digi scrap supplies there. HTH! There is a fantastic tutorial section here also once you get going!!
