keep in mind that although a full size sensor is preferred for professional photographers who own expensive wide angle lenses <18mm.. a full sensor means amateur photographers lose about .5 in focal length.. a 300mm lens is just that 300 instead of 450. To most.. the biggest gain in going with a DSLR is greater reach with existing lenses.
