I guess it depends on how much you are wanting to get into photography and what pics you are getting from your current camera. If strength is an issue, this beefy babe could be put on a tri and you could use a remote if you wanted. You can do one handed photography, no need for both hands.

Do you want to have the ability to change out your lenses?

The Rebel has a point and shoot mode that can do it all for you until you learn the different things you can do w/ it.

I would suggest getting to a store and giving it a good long look. I'm sure they are going to be willing to let you hold it, play w/ it... just not drool on it.
