I have the 20D and also bought the 50mm 1.8. Love it. It's a great first lens and as said above, you can't go wrong with the price. What lenses you purchase from there will depend on what type of photos you intend to take. A telephoto lens is also a great one to have but can be very pricey for a good one. I have since bought the 17-85mm IS USM lens and am loving it. I think I will go for a telephoto lens next but that will be a bit down the road.
