Sara, my best advice to you would be to take a little time. Learn your program, design a couple more kits. Offer them as freebies somewhere (either at your own blog or some place else). Try to make a name for yourself before you start selling.

There are hundreds of designers out there now, and its really hard to become "known" and do well in this business. Its easier to make a name for yourself by giving your kits away as freebies for a bit and then trying to sell. If they liked you when you make freebies, there's a good chance that they'll like you when you start selling.

When you've reached the point that you really are ready to start selling, then start contacting stores. Watch for designers calls.

As for zipping your file, right click on your folder and go down to "add to archive." It will bring up a menu for you choose what file to save in and then what to name it.
