I create at 12x12 (just in case) and save at this size, but I resize them to 8x8 to print. I really like the 8x8 size though, so I'm not sure I'll ever go the 12x12 size, LOL! I like the way the smaller albums fit in my hand, they seem less bulky!

I'm actually using a K&Company 8.5 x 8.5 album at the moment, and have put in extra pages, it seems to be working well! That's another thing about digital scrapping that I love, the pages lay flat and I can fit many more layouts in an album than if I had all the layers of papers and embellishments to deal with. So I think you're able to add many more pages than if you paper scrapped, which is great for me as I don't have a lot of storage room in my house for big bulky albums!

Since I'm centering the layout on the paper I print on, I have a small white border on the left and right sides, and I just cut the top and bottom to match. So the layout is actually 8.5 x 8.5, but if you didn't like the border you could cut all sides off, I don't mind the border though, it's hardly noticable when it's in the album! Or if you use an 8x8 you'll have to cut them.
