Yes, your LO can only be in the challenge gallery or in your personal album. When you post a LO to a challenge/crop gallery, your LO will still appear under your "My Photos" and other users will see it if they look at your gallery. Unfortunately you can't post the same LO to a challenge and to your album, but after the challenge is over you can always move it to your album so your things are better organized.
