I have an HP printer so I stick with HP paper. I have tried other brands but do not get consistent results. I prefer gloss so I go for the HP Premium Gloss for a high quality print but for an everyday print I use the Everyday gloss.
This site http://www.wilhelm-research.com/ is the source for information on paper and printing and worth a look. You can find out how long you can expect your prints to last in diferent conditions for eg.
