I don' t have a quote for you, but maybe you can find something if you look at it from another angle. Look for quotes on leadership, or spending time together, even friendship quotes can be quite precious and loving. Have you considered reworking a quote and subsituting the step-dad's name in place of "grandfather"? Hope you find a good one.
