Catchlights- Photo Technique Challenge

For this months technique I thought it would be fun to work on catchlights. Some of you might be wondering what catchlights are. Catchlights are reflections of light that are seen in the eyes of your subject. Until recently, I didn't really pay that much attention to catchlights, but now that I am much more aware of the dramatic results that they can give photos, I am constantly seeking them out. I like to look for them in magazines and catalogs see how they impact the photo or ad.

In experimenting with catchlights there are a few things to keep in mind. The first one is to zoom in close, either with your lens or your feet, while composing your shot you should be able to see the catchlights the subjects eyes in your viewfinder. If you aren't seeing catchlights in their eyes try repositioning your subject until you get the desired results.
I have found that natural light works best. An overcast day or late in the afternoon when the sun is not directly overhead is a great time to try capturing some catchlights in your photos. So grab your camera and see what kind of amazing results you can get with catchlights!!

Here are a few of mine! http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...cat=500&page=1
