A very easy way to create your own fabric type papers comes from using your own photos. Paint Shop Pro has Effects that allows you create lots of different prints from one image or photo. In the Effects Reflection menu and they are called Kaleidoscope and Pattern. Here I am starting with a photo of a wild rose that I took years ago. I just randomly selected an area that I thought was colorful and pretty and used just that portion of the photo.

Then I used Effects>Reflections Effect>Kaleidoscope: I used the simple settings below for my fabric pattern

The next step is to run a Simple Quick Tile Plug-in available here for free and these all work in PSP:
http://www.cateran.btinternet.co.uk/simple/

Now you have a pattern to use for a new paper background. Open a new 12x12 300ppi image in PSP. I used a background color (Dark Green) that complimented my new pattern image on my Background Layer. Create another new layer and with it active go to your Materials Palette and choose Pattern, select your new image from the drop down window and adjust the Scale Number so that you feel your new pattern will fill to the correct size on your new paper image. With mine I choose a scale factor of 245, as I wanted a larger type pattern. Then use your bucket fill and fill a raster layer with your pattern this is how mine turned out. Well not the best is it? So lets play a little with another great feature of PSP and that would be those Blend Modes¡KNever forget to play with that adjustment!

Here it is with the Blend Mode changed to Saturation:

Well that is a little better and much prettier for a paper background, very ornate and elegant fabric design. In this screen shot I added 3 different colored blocks on my background layer to show you just how much adding a single color changes the effect of the Blend Modes. I also changed my Blend Mode to Screen, Opacity to 55%.

Ok now we are going to play with the Effects>Reflections Effect>Patterns and see what we can come up with. Again start with any image with colors that you like or just something special that grabs your attention! ļ Here is a pattern that I have it is great already but to show you how to alter an image and create a pattern I am going to use it!

The possibilities are endless what you can do with this one image you can also add a texture to it so that it has a fabric look to it. Notice again the background layer color and Blend Mode settings, totally a different look then from above

Here I added another layer of the striped original pattern and alter the Blend Modes yet again.

Here I created an new image and randomly placed some picture tubes on it
Then I ran the Pattern Effect on it and got the image on the right side

I grunged up the edges, added noise and scratch marks using a plug-in from Filter Unlimited.

I sure hope this helps you to understand two effects and how powerful they are in creating paper from images in PSP.
For creating lined paper a simple way is to use the DSB Flux/Tiler plug-in http://www.gardendaledesigns.com/Frame011.html
here I took the image above, opened the filter and ran it with these setting to achieve a lined paper.

Then I created a diagonal striped image with the Simple/Diamond plug-in, then using the same diagonal image choose the Simple Four Way Average plug-in to get a plaid pattern.
I added this paper in .psp format so that you can turn off certain layers, change the blend modes, change and alter the colors yourself to get a better feel for how they work, sorry they will only work in PSP and not other programs.
