You can use the standard filters in DIP to create stamped, distressed and similar effects on any font. This tutorial demonstrates some of the options available.

Font used in all examples: P22 Daddy Ultra

Insert> Text

Type in your text, and size appropriately.

Insert > Shape> Square

Format > Resize Object to Fit Canvas > Stretch to Fit

Right click Move Forward or Backward> Send to Back

Fill the shape with a color or background of your choice to suit your layout.

Select the text and choose Edit> Flatten Selected Objects.

Choose Effects> Filters > All filters and scroll to find, Chalk: Rough Abstract

Choose Change Advanced Options.

Increase the brush size to 185

Decrease the coverage to 75

Your text will look like that below

Select Done and Done.

Zoom in.

Select the Magic Wand Tool

Set the Tolerance to 15 and click on a large white area.

Choose Edit > Delete.

Zoom in a little closer and choose another area of faint grey/white.

Choose Edit > Delete.

Choose the Object tool  and click anywhere on the canvas to finalize.

Select Effects> Fill with texture or color > choose black from the palette or whatever color you desire.

Here is the result.

Other Options:

Charcoal: Contrast

Change Advanced Options: Brush Size: 120; Coverage: 88

Remove white with Magic wand as above but vary second tolerance level to 8. Fill with solid color.

Paint: CrissCross

Change Advanced Options: Brush Size: 75; Coverage: 75 Change the Brush to Ink1A

Remove white with Magic wand I made 3 separate selections using 8 as the tolerance

Try also experimenting with the following filters and their advanced options, including brush types.:

Foil: Dark

Ink: Stipple

Paint: Dark Freehand

Paint: Rough Contrast

Pencil: Blurry Sketch

Pointillist Bold

TIP! The same idea can be applied to distress effects to papers etc!
