Create a dotted circle brush using Photoshop 7.0.

Step 1: Open a New File with a transparent background, File > New.

Step 3: Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool from the detachable Tools menu.

Step 4: While pressing the Shift key, click with your mouse on the transparent canvas and drag the circle to the size you want, then, let go of the mouse and shift buttons. You should see a circle of marching ants.

Step 5: If your Paths window is not open, select Window > Paths and select the Make a Work Path from Selection icon.

Once you make the work path, you should see this:

Step 6: Now select the brush tool. Make sure the Brushes Window is open, Window > Brushes.

Step 7: Select Brush Tip Shape and choose a solid circle brush. Change the diameter to the size you wish and adjust the spacing slider.

Step 8: Go back to the Paths Window and select the Stroke Path with Brush icon.

NOTE: Make sure you still have the brush tool activated.

Step 9: You should now see a circle of dots. Delete the current work path.

Step 10: To create the circle dotted brush, select Edit > Define Brush.

Step 11: Name your new brush and press OK.

Step 12: Now test your new brush out by selecting it and varying its size and color. Have fun!
