This tutorial will show you how to make a slide using
Photoshop 7.0.
Step 1: Open a piece of background paper that you want to
use to make your slide. File > Open and duplicate it. Delete the locked
background layer.
Step 2: Select the Custom Shape Tool from the Tools menu.
Find the rounded slide/frame shape and select it.
Step 3: Press the Shift key and drag the square frame to
the size you want on the copied background layer. If the background layer
doesn’t line up the way you like, just move the background layer using the Move
Tool.
Step 4: Go to the Paths window (Window > Paths) and select
the Load path as a selection icon (see example).
Step 5: There now should be marching ants around the slide.
Copy by selecting Edit > Copy.
Step 6: Create a new layer and paste. Turn off the
background copy layer’s visibility icon, or delete the background copy layer.
You should now see your slide.
Step 7: Go to the layer style box by double clicking on the
slide layer. Select the Bevel and Emboss and Contour. Use the inner bevel style
and adjust the sliders to your liking.
Here’s the result:
