From YourSITE.com *NEW Tape is a handy addition to your digital stash – you can use it to fasten paper, frames, photos and more. This tutorial demonstrates how to make your own tape.  Create a new layer and select the Polygonal Lasso tool. Click and then drag to create the first a straight edge   Press and hold ALT and draw the jagged edge of the tape. Release the ALT key and draw a straight line for the second edge, press and hold ALT to draw the other jagged edge.  Fill the shape with white (CTRL+Backpace if your colors are set at default)  Select Filter> Plastic Wrap. Here my settings are Highlight strength: 15; Detail: 15 and Smoothness: 8. Select OK  Decrease the transparency of the tape layer. The transparency level will depend upon the papers/elements you are using.   Double click on the layer to open the Layer style dialog Select Bevel and Emboss. Reduce the Depth to about 30 and the size to 0. This adds a tiny shadowed edge to the tape.  Select Texture and choose a texture of your choice. I have chosen a crumpled paper texture – this gives the tape faint puckers as if it hasn’t been put on quite neatly. Select OK  The tape now be a bit grey so lighten the tape by going to Adjustments> Bright and Contrast  The final tape  Add color and manipulate with dodge and burn to age or create other types of tape  © Copyright by YourSITE.com |
