Create your own fun felt accents for your digital scrapbook pages with this tutorial.
Create a new document. This document is 1200x1200px at 300ppi.
From the Tools Palette, select a foreground color for the accent and then select a background color that is slightly darker than the foreground selection.
Select the custom shape tool on the tools palette and ensure that Fill Pixels is selected.
From the options bar, browse, load and select a shape from your collection.
Draw out the shape to the desired size.
Select Filter> Render> Fibers
Manipulate the Variance to create subtle contrast – how much will depend on the colors you are working with. Strength should be at minimum. Select OK to apply.
Double click on the layer to open the layer style dialog
Select Bevel and Emboss and adjust the settings to significantly reduce the depth of the bevel (11%)
Select texture and browse the Photoshop preset to find Grayscale Paper
Select Fibers 2
Increase the Scale to around 180% and the Depth to 100%
Switch back to Bevel and Emboss and adjust the Shading by changing the Shadow mode first to Color Burn and then decrease the Highlight Mode so there are not obvious highlights in the shape.
Click OK to apply
Go to Filter> Noise> Add Noise
Select Distribution: Uniform, and check the Monochromatic box. Zoom in and adjust the amount to add the final touch of texture
