From YourSITE.com *NEW This tutorial demonstrates a way to create a tree ornament with the standard tools in Digital Image.  Format> Resize Object to Fit Canvas > Scale to fit  Effects> Fill with texture or color> Picture and select a patterned paper  Choose Effects> Distort> Fish Eye and select a distortion value – in this case the default 40 is used  Duplicate the circle With the top circle selected choose Effects> Transparency> Gradual  Select the circular gradient and click Done.  Repeat the above steps again on the same duplicate. With the top circle selected choose Effects> Transparency> Gradual. Select the circular gradient and click Done. With the top layer still selected choose TouchUp >Exposure and reduce the shadow, midtone and highlight sliders, how much depends upon the paper color and pattern you are using. You are aiming to darken the edges of the circle to give it dimension.  Select the freehand tool and draw a shape to encompass the bottom right edge roughly as shown  Select Edit> Duplicate and choose the object tool to finalize  Use a fairly large soft edge Transparency brush at about 75% opacity to erase the areas of that are out of place in the middle  To add a top to the ornament, Change the canvas size to 6 x4inches Format> Resize canvas Insert>Shape> Rounded Square and size and position as shown  You will need a metallic texture image – if you don’t have one in your collection then try this one available at imageafter.com http://www.imageafter.com/image.php?image=b10metals009.jpg Select Effects> Fill with texture or color> Picture and choose your metallic image.  Select Insert> Shape and choose the ring shape Position as shown  Fill the ring with the metallic image. Effects> Fill with texture or color> Picture and choose your metallic image.  Group the metallic parts together and choose Touchup> Other Photo Repair> Dodge and burn brush. Use a small soft edge brush and reduce the brightness to the minus numbers brush the edges of the metallic pieces.  Select the ornament again in the stack Touchup> Other Photo Repair> Dodge and burn brush Use a small soft edge brush and reduce the brightness to the minus numbers brush at the base of the metallic elements  If you do have access to a bevel plugin filter, applying it to the metallic piece provides a better look. (here I’ve use Eye Candy 4000 Bevel Boss)  To add a photo to this ornament Position the photo over the ornament  Select the Marquee tool and draw out a circle allowing for space around the face  Choose Feather and select a fairly high feather amount – 40 is used here.
