Learn how to manipulate the position of objects in Digital Image Pro/Suite
Note: If you can not perform these actions, or the options are greyed out the object is locked (signified by a padlock symbol shown next to the object on the stack. To unlock, right click on the object and choose Unlock.

Rotate Tools
You can rotate an object using one of several methods.
You can rotate clockwise or anticlockwise using the Rotate button on the picture toolbar menu. Each click will turn the object 90 degrees.
Alternatively you can rotate an object manually by clicking, holding and dragging on the rotate handle attached to the objects bounding box. As you hover over the rotate handle and click, the cursor will change shape to an arc with an arrow head.

Snap rotation positions objects so they are exactly horizontal, vertical, or at 45-degree angles. As you rotate an object near the 45-degree increments, the object "snaps" to that angle, ensuring the object is exactly horizontal, vertical, or at a 45-degree angle. You can enable or disable this option under Tools> Snap Rotation

You can also define a custom rotation angle.
Format> Rotate > and choose canvas or Selected Object

From the menu you can select any preset or you can enter a custom value in degrees from clockwise point.

After you have rotated an object you may find that the bounding box is at an awkward angle. To rectify this choose Edit> Flatten selected objects and the boundary will redraw to the object.

Flip Tools
You can flip an object using one of several methods.
You can flip horizontally or vertically using the Flip button/s on the picture toolbar menu. Each click will flip the object.

You can also choose Format> Flip> and choose Selected Object or Canvas then a direction.

Skew
You may wish to skew an object to change its perspective.
Choose Effects> Skew Object

You can skew the object by dragging the handles. To skew the object vertically, drag the top or bottom handles. To skew horizontally, drag the left or right handle

Straighten
The straighten tool is useful for photographs without level horizons, but could also be used to straighten objects such as elements.
Choose Format> Straighten Picture and choose from canvas or Selected Object

As instructed, identify a line that should be straight and click on one end, then click on the other end of the line. Note: This line may be “imaginary” or implied – it does not need to be an actual line. Here the line is drawn from the bottom to the top of the stem.

As soon as you click to finish the line the object will straighten.

If you have Auto Crop selected the areas shaded will automatically be cropped from the object.
Choose Done to apply.
In this case the object is now too large for the canvas so choose Format> Resize canvas> Auto Fit Canvas to Selected Object
