Eyelets are simply the easiest thing you can make in PhotoImpact. Let's try making one with a bit of a winter theme – a snowflake eyelet. It is really simple to do using preset shapes and materials.

Using the path tool, select a snowflake custom shape.

Drag and drop the shape until it is your desired size.

Change it to a 3D Round path shape with a border of around 90 and a smooth spine.

Choose an appropriate preset from the Easy Palette [F2]. Here I have selected a glass preset.

When you have found the right preset that looks right to you, make the eyelet part in the centre of the snowflake. Use the path tool again, but this time, make it a circle outline rather than a shape. I used the following settings after some experimentation.

Move the circle so that it is centred with your snowflake. Then select both objects, right click and merge them as a single object.

Now, with the merged object selected, you can make it into a transparent png. Press the F4 key and call up the Image Optimizer window.

Since you want a png with transparency, click the png button, and make sure the transparency box is ticked also. Select save as and give the file a name.

There you have it! A very simple yet beautiful snowflake eyelet to decorate your scrapbooking layouts for winter! Brrr!
