Open your tag
template.
Right click on
your tag and select “copy”
Go to
File/New/Done (in DIP, the new canvas is automatically the exact size of the
item you copied.)
Right click on
your new canvas and “paste” your tag.
Close the
original.
Fill your tag with
colour of choice: Effects/fill with colour or texture/more solid colour choices
and use the colour wheel to select a colour.
Duplicate your
tag: Ctrl + D
Keeping the top
layer selected, add filters if required: Effects/Filters/all filters and choose
a filter you like.
Still on the top
layer select your Freehand Tool and starting OFF the canvas, trace an uneven
line across the bottom quarter or third of your tag. Go off the canvas, down the
side, around the bottom and back up to the starting point.
Click on the
normal Selection Tool
Right click on
your tag and select “copy” then right click again and select “paste”.
Right click on the
middle layer in the stack and delete it.
You will now see
the bottom layer with the smaller top layer. Add texture to the bottom layer if
required.
Keep the top layer
selected and using the Freehand Tool trace around the top area.
Click on the
normal Selection Tool
Right click on the
tag and select “copy” then right click again and select “paste”
Keeping this new
section selected go to Effects/fill with colour or texture and select white (or
colour of choice)
Add texture to
this layer by going to Effects/Filters/all filters/texturizer and selecting a
look you like.
Left click on the
white layer and using the UP arrow on your keyboard move it up slightly.
On the Stack, left
click on the white layer and drag it down so it is in the middle. The stack now
looks like this:
Click on the white
layer and adjust the depth up or down by again using the Up or Down arrow on
your keyboard. (It won’t work unless you click on the actual white layer. If
you select it from the Stack it won’t work.)
With the middle
white layer selected, go to Effects/Transparency Brush. Adjust the brush size
and select either hard or soft edge and 100% transparency depending on your
preference. Gently move the brush along the top edge of the white layer. You
don’t need it to be exactly the same as the top layer.
Give your edge a
shadow.
Keeping the middle
layer selected go to Effects/Shadow/Drop Up Right and position your shadow as
shown. Adjust the transparency levels to suit. To make it easier to see I have
made the shadow darker in this example.
When you are happy
with the shadow click Done to return to the workspace.
Flatten your
layers: Edit/Flatten all objects. Save as png
