Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. This fun online tool is perfect for adding unique journaling to your layout.
Start by going to www.wordle.net

Select Create Your Own and type a variety of words that suit your page theme. If there is an important word, then type it in more than once and when generated the wordle will ensure the text is larger than the other. You have other alternatives for sourcing a word list also.

Press Go to generate - this is the default result I received but you can tweak all of the details including fonts and colors.

First I am going to adjust the layout. You have several choices and can experiment by simply clicking on the options.
You may then wish to adjust the font. Select each font in the list until you find one that suits the style you need for your layout.
Lastly choose Color to experiment with. The Wordle generator offers the choice of preset color palettes, or alternatively you can create your own custom palette using Hex codes as shown here.

You can also affect the case of the font using the Language menu.
Or just have fun by clicking on the Randomise button to select your favourite. You can edit any random selection by applying your own colors.
When you have a wordle you want for your page, you have two options. You can either print the image and scan back into your computer, or choose print and save to a PDF file if able. Alternatively you can choose Open in Window and make the window as large as possible, then use a screenshot program that allows you to take high quality screenshots of the wordle. You can then import the image into your program and use on your layout. For examples view the gallery and for more information check the FAQ files. Have fun with wordling!
