Traditionally photographers used lens filters to emphasise or skew the colours in a scene, and lens filters are still popular with digital enthusiasts, but used less often as the digital darkroom can provide many more alternatives.

Open your photo and make a duplicate
Go to Layer> New Adjustment layer> Photo Filter and select OK
The dialog defaults to a warming filter, selecting the drop down menu gives you more presets, some which are named based on traditional photography filters.

Ensure Preserve Luminosity is checked, and then cycle through the options to find an appropriate effect.

Adjusting the density intensifies or subdues the filter effect.
